Cocktail Friday: Vodka Tonic

vodka tonic

Sometimes you just have to think simple. As summer heats up, I’m finding myself on the patios of my favorite watering holes more and more often. I’ll quietly take in the Milwaukee night life as I sip on a cold beverage, letting my mind unwind from a long day at the office.

While most people would reach for sweeter, more fruity drinks, I like to keep things simple. A straight forward vodka tonic is becoming my drink of choice, garnished with some tart limes and colorful cherries. The fizzy tonic and bite from the vodka blend well together, and is the perfect cocktail for warm Friday nights.

As you soak up the warm summer night, have a drink on me, and let’s give a cheers to summer.

Vodka Tonic
Ingredients

2 ounces vodka
4 ounces tonic water
lime wedges and cherries for garnish

Directions

Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour vodka in glass. Top with tonic water. Squeeze lime wedge(s) over the drink, drop wedge(s) into drink, and lightly stir. Top with charries.
