Winter is all about comfort food – steaming bowls of chili sprinkled with sharp cheddar cheese, hearty pot roasts still sizzling from the oven, and creamy mashed potatoes smothered in a rich, savory gravy. It’s a focus on foods that are classic and heart-warming, foods that ward away that bitter winter chill.
But comfort foods aren’t just savory. They can also be sweet and decadent. The traditional Bundt cake is an icon of the 1950s, and true comfort food.
This simple metal pan was invented by H. David Dalquist in the 1950s, and soon coveted by housewives everywhere. These classic O-shaped cakes, with their drizzled glazes and rich tunnels, began making appearances on buffet tables, changing the American dessert landscape forever.
In tribute to this iconic dessert, and just in time for the frigid winter months, here are 5 outstanding Bundt cakes to make you all warm and cozy.

These look fabulous. I’ll have to post my rum cake soon which is also done as a bundt cake, but uses a regular cake mix.
