I grew up in a family of popcorn lovers. At the movies, camping, bumming around the house – no matter where we are or what we’re doing, there’s usually a bowl of of that light, airy goodness nearby. Like a dog and bacon, even the sound of kernels exploding in a pot of canola oil, and the warm smell of salt and butter would bring my sisters and running into the kitchen, begging for a handful.
The holiday season only seems to augment my love for this addictive snack – brightly decorated tins full of exotic gourmet flavors, homemade popcorn drizzled with olive oil and sea salt, classic handmade caramel corn just waiting to be devoured. I can honestly say that I’m guilty of diving into a big bowl and inhaling the popcorn in one sitting.
Since it is the season of giving, and eating, I’m sharing my love for popcorn with others. These festive homemade popcorn recipes are perfect food gifts for family and friends.
