My favorite sugar cookie is an old amish recipe containing lard. Not the best healthwise, but the flavor is what I remember from being a kid and it rolls and cuts superbly! Another variation is to add orange juice with an orange juice/powdered sugar glaze…perfect to pick up sick friends and family during cold and flu season.
I would love to have your sugar cookie recipe using lard. My grandmother made these and called them tea cakes. Would you share, please?
HI Judy – We don’t have a recipe with lard on Taste of Home, but I did find you a recipe! Enjoy and Happy Baking!

Anyone have a sugar cookie recipe that does not take eggs. My granddaughters are allergic to eggs and lethicin.
