I have a secret. I’m not ready for fall. I’m not ready for cooler weather, for falling leaves, for sweaters. I’m not ready for casseroles, slow cookers, for pot roasts. I’m still craving the summer sun on my shoulders, a tall glass of cold lemonade, and bowls of fresh, spicy salsa. Instead of walking through apple orchards, I’d rather spend my weekend by the pool. Instead of raking leaves, I’d rather be cooking up some burgers at the grill. I am not ready for fall.
But, Mother Nature has a mind of her own, and fall is on it’s way. But I’m determined to have one final sip of summer – which is why this Friday’s cocktail is a colorful Tequila Sunrise. Orange juiced is kicked up a notch with tequila and sweet grenadine. It’s a little bit of sunshine as summer slowly fades away.
