State Fair: Fresh Roasted Corn on the Cob

Roast Corn

The cream puff isn’t the only crown jewel at the Wisconsin State Fair.  Fresh, buttery corn also draws fans from miles around. The ears turn slowly over a spit, the plump kernels turning a deep, golden yellow – the sweet, smoky scent filling the air. State Fair goers line-up for blocks, hungry to get their hands on a hot, fresh, buttery ear of corn.

While invading the Wisconsin State Fair, I made sure to sink my teeth into one of these famed ears. The butter dribbled down my chin and the golden pearls popped in my mouth.  After chowing down on fried food all day long, this was a welcome escape. Although, I’m sure the butter isn’t the healthiest option either.
