Small Plate: Snow Day Must Haves

Snow Days

Is it just me or does it seem like it’s snowing everywhere? The Midwest and Northeast are being slammed by snowstorms, while the South is in the midst of a deep freeze! Looks like Old Man Winter is here to stay.

Yesterday my youngest sister called to tell me that she was enjoying a snow day.  I was instantly jealous. I miss those days! Instead of algebra you’re sledding down a hill at top speeds, the frigid air biting your nose as you crash into a snow bank. Of course you don’t miss the lunch lady’s “Mystery Meat Wednesdays” as you tuck into a bowl of your favorite homemade soup.

Here are a few recipes that are total must haves for those wonderful days of snow.

Snow Day Recipe Round Up

Joy the Baker: Brown Butter Winter Citrus Pancakes

Smith Bites: Tortellini Soup with Kale

Life’s a Feast: Nutella Fudge Brownies

Not Without Salt: Sweet and Savory Spiced Nuts

Multiply Delicious: Pizza Night

I heard that every state has snow right now except for Florida (which happens to be where I live). Amazing! Stay warm!
Thanks again!

Well I am in great company here Sarah, thank you for including me! Soup is definitely comforting when you look out the window and all you see is snow; this roundup of small plates is terrific – I would make every one of these dishes!
