Since I moved to Milwaukee, a friend of mine has always hosted a New Year’s Day bunch. Their closest friends gather at their house around noon, everyone still in their PJs, and we feast on mini frittatas, spiced bacon twists, and the most amazing Bloody Marys I’ve ever had.
When I first heard about their brunch, I was a little confused why they were having a party on New Year’s Day and not New Year’s Eve. The explanation was simple. “It’s so much more fun to have people over for a lazy day of eating and football watching, instead of a night of cocktails and appetizers,” my friend said.
And I completely agree! Here are some great brunch recipes for your own New Year’s Day party.
- Crab Quiche with Hollandaise
- Fruity Baked Oatmeal
- Mini Spinach Frittatas
- Benedict Eggs in Pastry
- Omelet Croissants
- Bacon-Cheddar Biscuit Snackers
